Don't Get Bent Out of Shape

Another song written by Beck Hansen. “Dont Get Bent Out of Shape” appeared on the demo tape Dont Get Bent Out of Shape released in the early 90s (Pre-Mellow Gold).

Beck again shows his skill in song writing. Its just great. His pre-Mellow Gold days, in my opinion, produced his best material.

The lyric “though your heart is all twisted/and every word seems fake/dont get bent out of shape” could relate to someone’s heart that has been broken.

“Though your sick of your self/and its to late to escape…” This could mean someone that is utterly depressed with them selfs.

The constant “Dont get bent out of shape, my friend” makes it feel like Beck is talking to you. It could help the heart broken or depressed person. This message applies to all of life’s hurtles. Don’t let life put you down. Finding love will happen, sadness/guilt will turn to happiness. Find the positive not the negative. Dont dwell on the bad. Life is to short for that.

This nice folk song is very reassuring. “Dont Get Bent out of Shape” by Beck.
